The primary goal:
The worst thing that can happen to me is a retinal detachment. Should that happen the cost of a surgery for one eye would vary between $5,000 and $10,000 (sometimes even more). My main goal is to obtain these funds as a part of my contingency planning and use them, should the need arise, to be able to get my ability to see back swiftly.
The information is based on the following article: http://health.costhelper.com/retinal-detachment.html
The prices quoted apply to surgeries in the USA. Only two clinics supposedly perform such surgeries in Poland and they were not willing to issue quotes without a prior examination.
Secondary goals:
Costs of medical care as well as current surgeries so as to maintain my current visual abilities. Those include: photocoagulation, the use of RT2 laser, phacoemulsification.
The costs involved in the aforementioned surgeries vary from hundreds of PLN to tens of thousands of PLN and are only performed when requested by my doctor who has been looking after me for over 10 years. These surgeries have to be performed once a year, sometimes once every 2 years. I had to undergo 2 surgeries in 2016 and 3 in 2018.
